Saffrons Christmas Menu for 2009

If you and your friends are interested in booking your Christmas get together with us please contact us and we will take pleasure in putting together an eventful evening for you. Thank you for taking the time to look at our menu and we hope you like the choices. Remember, as our food is all prepared freshly by ourselves, we can make tweaks to meals to suit individual needs as long as we are made aware.

Saffrons' Christmas Party Menu

Starters

  • A homemade mushroom and bean pate' with crusty toast served on a side salad garnish
  • Seafood bound with a creamy tomato and parsley sauce in a puff pastry base
  • One of Papa's renowned soups, served with croutons and a circle of chive oil

Mains

  • Traditional roast turkey with a kilted sausage, sage & walnut stuffing, goose fat roast potatoes and a rich gravy
  • A roulade of plaice, salmon and spinach poached gently in a white wine jus and served with a lobster sauce
  • A pan fried escalope of pork filled with apple and wrapped with Parma ham drizzled with chive oil
  • A layered pie of butternut squash, spinach, pine nuts and cheese and served with a vegetarian jus
  • Baked leek, potato, and mushroom pancakes topped with tomato, parsley and cheese sauce
  • All the dishes are served with a selection of seasonal vegetables

Desserts

  • Christmas pudding served with a creamy brandy sauce
  • BJ's famous crème Brulee' served with a red fruit compote
  • A boozy sherry trifle of fruit and strawberry conserve a custard topping and finished with whipped double cream
  • After dinner coffee & mince pie
